success!
The release show on Friday was AWESOME. Crave is one of the coolest venues I've ever seen...God, music, coffee, city...my life. There were tons of people there and I sold a decent number of CDs. It was just really fun. And to see a lot of my favorite people in the same place was great. It was a little weird though to see my freshmen English teacher sitting at the same table as my photographer...but cool. Thanks for all of the support throughout this process! It's still not over. It never really will be. But at least we've released the album successfully.

some [almost] final updates
According to the countdown on my phone, there is only 1 day, 21 hours, and 7 minutes until the release show. Everything I've been working toward over the past year, really, is finally going to be out there for the world to see! Surprisingly, the last-minute details have been falling into place pretty well this week. Ana is singing background. Logan is playing guitar. Andrew and Amibeth are selling CDs. Becky Boesch is taking pictures. People I love, from all different communities - Westminster, Viz, Windsor, and more - are all going to be in the same place at the same time. That's one of the things I'm most excited about.
Hopefully I'll see you there!

updates are rare these days
But here's one for you. I finally got to talk to Caitlin, my DiscMakers representative, on the phone. And she said that my CDs will be mailed on Thursday and get to me on Friday! 4 days until everything I've worked toward is literally in my hands. Theoretically. If everything goes like it's supposed to. I am so so so excited. See you September 5th!

it's been a while...
...since I've updated this. So here's what's been going on.
The day before I left for Canada, I shipped everything to DiscMakers. A few days later, while I was in Canada, I got a call from them saying everything was good and they were going to start producing it that week. But then a few days after THAT I got a DIFFERENT call from them saying the master CD had broken in the mail and I had to send a new one. Of course I had to be far from home, so I wasn't able to mail one until about a week and a half later when I got home. It's sort of ironic because I was rushing to get the CD and put it in the mail before I left so I wouldn't be wasting 2 weeks of my time, and then I ended up having to waste those 2 weeks of my time anyway. But anyway. I got home, mailed the 2nd master overnight, and they started producing the project. Apparently it's going to be shipped to me on the 20th...which is cutting it SO much closer than I had ever expected. But that seems to be what happens in this industry. Whatev...I'm sure it will be fine.
So that's the current status. Waiting for DiscMakers.

it's a big deal
So today, I drove to Brad's house, which is fun because I hardly ever get to go to the city, especially by myself. Then I picked up the mastered mix. And I listened to it. And I think it sounds good. Then later...I mailed everything to Disc Makers. It's a pretty big deal, I mean I've been working on this thing for like almost 8 months, and this is sort of the last step, getting it all put together. I told the lady at Kinko's that it's the most important thing I've ever mailed, and she put an extra layer of bubble wrap around the CDs for me.
